1. Who we are
Biilu Technologies (“Biilu”, “we”, “us”) operates the marketing website at thebillu.com and provides restaurant and retail POS software. For privacy requests contact privacy@thebillu.com.
2. Data we collect
- Demo form data: name, work email, phone, company, role, outlet count, use case, referral source, optional demo time.
- Usage analytics: page views, scroll depth, CTA clicks, form events (only if you accept analytics cookies).
- Technical data: IP address (approximate city/country), browser type, device, referrer URL, UTM campaign parameters.
- Chat data: messages you send via our Crisp chat widget, linked to your email if provided.
- Cookies: consent preference, session ID, A/B test assignment, UTM attribution (see Cookies).
3. Purpose & legal basis
We process data to:
- Respond to demo and sales enquiries (contract / legitimate interest).
- Send product updates you opt into (consent).
- Measure and improve our website (consent via cookie banner).
- Prevent fraud and secure our services (legitimate interest).
- Comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations (legal obligation).
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) and applicable GDPR principles for EU visitors, we rely on consent where required and legitimate interests for B2B sales follow-up.
4. Retention
- Demo leads: up to 3 years from last interaction, unless you request deletion sooner.
- Analytics logs: up to 26 months (GA4 default) or until consent withdrawn.
- Cookie consent records: 12 months.
- Support chat transcripts: up to 2 years.
5. Sharing & processors
We use trusted subprocessors: HubSpot (CRM), Resend (email), Mixpanel & Google Analytics (analytics, with consent), hCaptcha (bot protection), and Crisp (chat). Data may be processed in India, the EU, or the United States under appropriate safeguards.
7. Your rights
You may request:
- Access to personal data we hold about you
- Correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restriction or objection to processing
- Data portability (where applicable)
- Withdrawal of consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing)
Email privacy@thebillu.com with subject “Data Request”. We respond within 30 days. EU residents may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, and vendor security reviews. No method of transmission is 100% secure; please use strong passwords for any Biilu product accounts.
9. Children
Our services are intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
